Zath, did you get the emails about the upgrade to version 2 and the need to purchase "tokens" to upgrade to version 3 (should it ever manifest)?

I think Jigger provided a link to it in another thread.

I had looked on itunes and amazon before psting here. On my end the amazon version's 'preview' has some audio issue and the itunes version is not the original version. It's ok I will convert from my 45. Thanks and take it easy guys.

I'm sure it's available on iTunes, Amazon and other subscription services for something like $2.99 for the track.

Morning all, from a once (hyper)active user here in the UK.

I'm in agreement that Ots need to bring new blood into the user-base.  It's ok just expecting us old-hands to keep updating and buying their latest versions, but at some point they're going to need to deliver some new (working) functionality.

For me, right now, I need to be able to purchase and use a new controller.  I've had a Denon MC6000 MkII since release, and on Saturday evening last week, it finally gave up in the UK heat, released a little puff of magic smoke (the soul leaving the mixer), and refused to power on again.  I ended up with a 3.5mm jack plug from the headphone port of my laptop, praying that everything worked until the end of the night, and no microphone - for a wedding that was a little bit tricky, but I've got a loud voice when I need it, and it wasn't the largest group of people.  Anyhow - it all worked out, and I digress...

So - this morning, I've sat down with the task of buying a new mixer/controller (call it what you will).

As far as I can make out, the last officially supported controller added to the OTS site with a downloadable midi-map, was the MC6000 MkII, and I just looked back through my emails and found that was about 12 years ago.  I'm now looking at the Denon SC Live 4 controller, as that allows you to use the sound cards and map midi as well, but I'm going to have to do it myself (unless anyone here has already done so).

I don't mind that - I quite enjoy a bit of problem solving and hardware mapping.  I don't have much time, but it does make me wonder if it's worth it...  OTS may be in trouble (we don't know), but they've recently had the campaign that asked for donations from the existing userbase.  Now I don't know how much they took, but that might pay for a little bit of the developers time but if I understand correctly, they will get nothing else on the release of the next version (1.9x or the fabled v2), so the only thing that can keep them afloat longer is NEW customers buying the product.

In the world of Recordbox, Engine, Virtual DJ, etc, etc there are so many choices of constantly updated software.  The only thing that keeps me going with OTS, is that it works - it doesn't NEED updates every 5 minutes, because it works.

I truly hope that the OTS team, as well as spending the money on development of whatever new versions they release next, keep some behind to run some pretty big advertising campaigns - because that is the ONLY way they'll get the product in front of the eyes of those who might be looking for a reliable, radio-style playout system.

Look on you Tube and check the versions out. That could point you in the right direction.

Yeah, oh geez, think I'm going to have to go dig up my jukebox 45s and transfer it to mp3 myself.

Well, if the source material (the CD) doesn't play with the male voice, there is no way that the MP3 ripped from it is going to magically add it back in. A lot of the cheap "Best of" CDs are actually made up of out-takes and studio rejects, so maybe this is one of those?

Oh sorry I had forgotten to mention the mps which came off a cd plays without the male [Tony Burrows' part even on my desktop pc's spaker so has nothing to do with either my home stereo or DJ rig.

Fellas, how you all doing, been a while. Hoping you old-school DJs like myself can possibly solve this issue.

So I have quite a few copies of the Brotherhood of Man - United we stand mp3 and for a while now I had been noticing that the tune plays without the male singer's part. I had thought maybe it a stereo issue with my equipment but if so then why only with this tune?

If you can listen to it here from my google drive please, let me know if you should have the same issue and if so, can you shed any light on why this is happening, please?
