Title: Wishing DJ Nikki "All the Best"
Post by: milky on October 18, 2016, 10:52:40 PM
Many of the "old timers" here on the forum will remember DJ Nikki - aka Dee Sallee. She, and her (now) ex husband Dave have been long time Ots users and have offered much advice and interesting snippets over the years.

I have learned recently that her health is not as good as it could be. It's personal, so I won't go into details, but she has just come out of hospital after a serious operation, so I know that she would get a buzz out of hearing from the forum members as she works on her recovery. None of us can forget her bubbly personality and funny anecdotes she has told over the years.

Dee, here's wishing you "All the Best", and a speedy return to full health.

Much love from the Ots Forum Team.

Hi everybody! Thank you so much for all the well wishes! I'm doing well, and hope my new challenge will be over in a couple months.

I discovered a lump in my breast in late July and on August
17th, I learned it was breast cancer. After alot of tests I had the tumor and some lymph nodes removed last week and the "girls" are still intact although they are angry with me at the moment lol! I go next week for a post op appointment and will make an appointment with an oncologist to schedule 33 radiation treatments over 7 weeks and hopefully I will be done and can skip any chemo and not lose my hair lol!

Your love means a great deal to me and I thank you very much. I'll check in and update you guys as things move along.

For those of you who have ladies in your lives, have them get checked and "save second base"! I caught mine early and I'm extremely thankful for that.

Hang in there Nikki, and look after those "puppies".

Radiation treatment isn't for the feint hearted, but is still a better option than chemo. However, unfortunately it is dependent on the skill of the operator. Some probe too deep and destroy healthy tissue, some play safe and adjust the power such that it doesn't do its job, or leaves areas un-irradiated.

All of us on the forum wish you speedy recovery and much love.

Thank you guys....I love you.

I've had to put my radiation treatments on hold for awhile. My boss had to have an emergency abdominal surgery and it out for 6 weeks...he's been gone 2 weeks so far. I'll let y'all know when things get started when he gets back.

Well, I look at it like this:
I've had surgery so technically I am cancer free. The radiation is a deterrent for reaccurance. It took approximately 11 years to develop a 1cm tumor so putting it off one month isn't a long time in comparison. And lastly, i need snow, so that when the radiation burns get to hurting, I can go outside and make snow angels...face down of course lol!!

There is a saying  - "the cemetery is full of indispensable people". Don't compromise your own health because you feel "indispensable".

The rate of growth of the original tumour has no bearing on any secondary metastasis. If there are ANY break-away cells from the original neoplasm, they can travel to other parts and metastasise into a completely new tumour. Radiation treatment minimises the risk of these cells travelling, and MUST be done as soon after the original surgery as possible..

You get your tush back to that hospital and start treatment, lady!

The 5th of December is the soonest I could get appointments with the oncologist and radiologist....that is set in stone. I'll keep you all posted as I embark on this. All I can say is, I'm hoping for snow this winter... because by the end of treatment, I'm sure I'll be ready to make some kick ****** snow angels...face down of course! Lol!

Excellent, Nikki. Push to get the mapping done as soon as possible. Make sure they don't just do a "general" mapping, which will irradiate a lot of healthy tissue. You see, if breast cancer cells metastasise to other parts of the body, they attach and start to multiply, but they are actually mutated breast cells, so you need to lock down those nasties.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to update you on things. I went to those 2 appointments on December 5th, and started my radiation treatments the following week. I've completed 8 treatments thus far. I'm alittle pink skinned but because of Christmas and New year's I get 2, 3 day breaks from treatment. After that, 5 days a week til January 31st. So, all is on track and everything is going well.

I hope this finds you all well, and that you have had a great holiday season.

Love to you all
Nikki Dees

A little pink skin is a good thing, Dee. It indicates that they are at the correct threshold. Bright red is over-radiated, no effects is probably under-done OR a very skillful operator who gets it just right.

My next program will be starting in the new year.

You need to believe - we will all overcome.

Happy New Year to All, especially those suffering.

Thank you guys for the words of encouragement. I have now completed 21 out of 33 treatments. Everything is going well. Still running real pink...More pain on the inside than from the skin reaction, but it's manageable. I love you guys!! Happy new year!

I'm doing well with just pinkness and some peeling, but other than that and the internal pain I'm doing good. Only 3 more left. 2 boosters on Monday and my final booster on Tuesday and I'll finally be done, other than the body scan to check things out. We have a bell hanging on a wall in the waiting room, that patients ring when they've completed treatment...And Tuesday, I will be ringing that bell.

Thank you guys for loving me. I appreciate you all, more than you'll ever know!

Well I'm finally done, with this anyway lol! I have to go get an echo cardiogram on the 17th to make sure the radiation didn't hurt my heart. They said yesterday that I sounded techacardic, but I told them I was in the middle of a hotflash, it's fine! Well they didn't listen to me so, on to the next "thing" lol!

Thank you guys for loving me and supporting me as you always have. I love you all very much. Today is a good day.

You may have not heard of this but I wish to send this along to you for your consideration.

ONCOLOGISTS DON’T LIKE BAKING SODA CANCER TREATMENT BECAUSE IT’S TOO EFFECTIVE AND CHEAP

Several years ago, University of Arizona Cancer Center member Dr. Mark Pagel received $2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health in order to study the effectiveness of personalized baking soda cancer treatment for breast cancer.

It is expected that some people who have understood that sodium bicarbonate is the product that can save a person’s life in the emergency room in a heartbeat, and at the same time it is a primary cancer treatment option of the safest and most effective type.

There are studies which have proven that certain dietary measures are able to boost bicarbonate levels and can increase the pH of acidic tumors without upsetting the pH of the blood and the healthy tissues. It is important to mention that the animal models of human breast cancer have shown that oral sodium bicarbonate does indeed make tumors more alkaline and also inhibit metastasis. Dr. Julian Whitaker is a world renowned doctor who has adopted successful cancer treatment protocols as part of an overall nutritional and immune support program for patients who are dealing with the disease, with conclusions based on studies and the fact that baking soda is safe and well tolerated.

Namely, the Whitaker protocol utilizes 12 g (2 rounded teaspoons) of baking soda mixed with 2 cups water, along with a low-cal sweetener of a patient’s choice (maple syrup, or blackstrap molasses). The patient should sip this mixture over the course of an hour or two and repeat for a total of three times daily. There is a man who claims that he has found a cure for cancer using baking soda and molasses and successfully treated his own illness with the use of baking soda.

Baking Soda and pH Medicine

Medical experts explain that the pH of our tissues and body fluids is crucial and central as it has impact and mirrors the state of our health or the inner cleanliness. For instance, the closer the pH is to 7.35-7.45, that higher are our level of health and wellbeing. Maintaining or better said, staying within this range substantially increases the ability to resist acute diseases such as colds and flues but also those of cancer and other illnesses. Moreover, in order to keep our pH within a healthy range, certain lifestyle and dietary changes are necessary as that will protect us over the long term. The use of sodium bicarbonate can provide great jump-start toward increased alkalinity.

It is interesting that the pH scale is like a thermometer, as it shows increases and decreases in the acid and alkaline content of fluids. Any deviations, whether it is above or below a 7.35-7.45 pH range in the tightly controlled blood can signal potentially serious and dangerous symptoms or states of disease.

At the point when our body is no longer able effectively to neutralize and eliminate the acids, it relocates them within the body’s extra-cellular fluids and connective tissue cells which directly compromise the cellular integrity. Otherwise, if the body becomes too alkaline if there is too much bicarbonate in the blood, in the body occurs metabolic alkalosis, which may lead to severe consequences if is not corrected quickly.

Jon Barron has remarkable and interesting way of looking at pH that actually opens up one of the major benefits of alkaline water:

Hydrogen ions tie up oxygen. In other words that mean that the more acid a liquid is, the less available the oxygen in it. It is fact that each cell in our body requires oxygen for life and for maintaining optimum health. If we combine that with fact that we know about hydrogen ions we can conclude that the more acid the blood (the lower its pH), the less oxygen is available for use by the cells. If we skip the discussion about the chemistry involved, by simply understanding that it is the same mechanism involved when acid rain “kills” a lake. Namely, fish literally suffocate to death due to the fact that acid in the lake “binds up” all of the available oxygen. Simply: not that the oxygen has gone anywhere it is no longer available.

In the opposite case, if we raise the pH of the lake (make it more alkaline), oxygen is available and the lake comes back to life again. Successively, it’s worth noting that cancer is related to an acid environment (lack of oxygen) – the higher the pH (the more oxygen present in the cells of the body), the harder it is for cancer to thrive and survive.

How Baking Soda Can Help “Cure” Cancer

Generally speaking, malignant tumors represent masses of rapidly growing cells. Namely, this rapid rate of growth experienced by these cells means that cellular metabolism proceeds at very high rates, too.

That means that the cancer cells are using much more carbohydrates and sugars to generate energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate).

Still, there are some other compounds formed from the energy production such as lactic acid and pyruvic acid. Typically, under normal circumstances, these compounds are cleared and utilized right after they are produced. But cancer cells experience the metabolism at a much faster rate. So, these organic acids accumulate in the immediate environment of the tumor.

It is important to explain that the high level of extracellular acidity around the tumor is one of the chief driving forces behind the metastasis of cancer tumors.

Generally speaking, cancer cells require acidic environment in order to grow and spread rapidly.

Lead by this fact, some cancer experts are convinced that by buffering the tumor microenvironment with an alkalizing compound, the pH of tumors can be raised enough to starve the cells and stop their growth and spreading.

It is interesting that this rather simple solution to cancer has been proven right.

Certainly the best part is that there is no need to cook specific fancy synthetic drugs in order to lower the acidity in the immediate environment of the tumor. Sodium bicarbonate is simple and very commonly used compound that is able to do that.

We can conclude that it is preferably to deliver the sodium bicarbonate as close to the tumor as possible due to its pH-raising effect is needed in the microenvironment of the tumor. That is the reason why directly injected sodium bicarbonate in the tumor site is considered as much better solution than oral consummation. However, oral sodium bicarbonate is safer option and can be utilized at home.

The journal Cancer Research in 2009 published a study and it is among the first articles that confirm that the alkalinizing effect of sodium bicarbonate can indeed stop cancer.

Authors of the study injected sodium bicarbonate into a group of mice and determined how the growth and spread of cancer tumors were effected by raising the pH of the organ affected by the cancer.

The results of study proved that baking soda raised the pH and also reduced spontaneous metastases in mice which were induced with breast cancer.

In addition to this, researchers determined that sodium bicarbonate works by raising the pH outside cells and not within cells. This actually is very important discovery as it suggests that sodium bicarbonate does not interfere with cellular metabolism even as it makes the microenvironment unconducive for tumor growth.

Other findings from this study show that baking soda:

The involvement of the lymph node on the transport of cancer cells is reduced

The involvement of the liver is reduced and also the spread of tumor cells to other organs

Does not lower the levels of circulating tumor cells

Colonization of other organs by circulating tumor cells is inhibited.

The Baking Soda Formula for Cancer

In order to prepare baking soda natural cancer remedy at home, you will need maple syrup, molasses or honey along with the baking soda.

In his book, Dr. Sircus documented that one patient used baking soda and blackstrap molasses with intention to fight the prostate cancer that had metastasized to his bones. The patient mixed 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1 teaspoon of molasses in a cup of water. He consumed this combination for another 3 days after which his saliva pH read 7.0 and his urine pH read 7.5.

The patient was encouraged by these results and he decided to consume the solution 2 times on day 5 instead of once daily. And from day 6 – 10, he took 2 teaspoons each of baking soda and molasses two times a day.

Patient’s pH had risen to 8.5 by the 10th day, and the only side effects that he experienced were headaches and night sweat (similar to cesium therapy).

The next day, the patient had a bone scan and some other medical tests. The results were incredible: his PSA (prostate-specific antigen, the protein which is used to determine the severity of prostate enlargement and prostate cancer) level was down from 22.3 at the point of diagnosis to 0.1.

There is another baking soda formula that advises to prepare mixture of 90 teaspoons maple syrup and 30 teaspoons of baking soda. In order to prepare this combination you should heated the maple syrup until it become less viscous. After that the baking syrup is added and stirred for 5 minutes until it is fully dissolved.

This baking soda combination should provide doses for 10 days. The recommended dose for cancer patients is 5 – 7 teaspoons daily.

You should be careful while you utilize this baking soda remedy to treat cancer as sustaining a high pH level can itself cause metabolic alkalosis and electrolyte imbalance. Furthermore this may result with edema and also may affect the heart and blood pressure.
