Title: How to stop Deck A and B from fading out and in when need to play CD?
Post by: DJArt (Baby Boomer DJ) on August 19, 2014, 05:27:07 PM
I have Esperance.  I also have OtsAVDJ 1.85.

Issue.  I play both CD and OTS.  Need to play CD when Deck A is finishing...but it won't stop.  It fades to the next track loaded on Deck B.  In the older version (1.85), I was able to disable auto fade.  I can't seem to find the button on 1.90.  Is there such a thing on Esperance?

CTRL+D should do it too.

Alternatively add a stop and re-cue directive after the item you want to follow with a CD.

 Sorry, I don't understand "Query" commands.

Thank you for responding.

It isn't a query

In your playlist if you right click below a track a sub menu comes up.

Point to insert directive and then select (left click) on stop & recue. Position this in the playlist where you want the computer to stop and allow you to play your cd track(s). Have the next Ots track selected and placed below the directive.

Ots will reach the directive and load the next Ots track but will not play it automatically

When you are ready to continue with Ots your next track should be ready waiting to play.

Use it for so many reasons

Andy, thank you for taking the time to enlighten/educate me.  The way you explained it makes sense...and I can do it!

TBO, I was a little confused with the Query comment.

For clarification, the "Right" click menu is a context menu, and gives you relevant menu options for the area you right clicked over.
And of course you won't get a menu with a normal "left" click unless you Left clicked a button such as the Options button in the Item properties window of OtsAV, of which is programmed to provide a context style menu when clicked.

Me and my query commands.  I should know better than to open those cans of worms!  Only kidding, I'm glad it helped you with a little further explanation.

This ole dog is always open to learning new tricks...or just how to do something not tried before--little tech experience and plenty of ignorance.  :blusha:

Thanks for the sanitizing your responses.

Yes, Darrell's add directive of stop and re-cue is what I use most often.  While I will turn of auto DJ on occasion, most times I really don't want it turned off, just don't want the next song playing until I say, so the stop and re-cue is an excellent tool

I use the Stop and recue exclusively for announcements and pauses in programming. AutoDJ is always on.
In fact, so is AutoBM. In order to prevent an auto beat mix, I will sneak a dummy placeholder between tracks. It gets auto of the way for the auto mix capability, but prevents the unwanted beat mixing that would otherwise happen by default.

 Jeff and Scott, thank you.  I did a gig this past weekend and used the "Stop" feature.  I kept "auto dj" on most of the time.  I was bouncing back and forth from digital to cd quite often.  I got the hang of it by the end of the event.  :icon_lol:

Is there any way to widen the library column?  I have trouble not being able to see the entire song title...not to be confused with mouse over the title which gives me plenty of info.

Not on Esperance. All I can suggest is to use that mouse over help text. IMO it's Quite handy!
