Title: Muting Ots
Post by: 2country on April 16, 2011, 04:09:19 PM
Is there any way of muting Ots? We have it playing all the time for the radio station but when we want to do anything else on the computer such as listen to another song we can't because ots is always playing.

Any ideas? I can't seem to find a solution without muting the stream

The only way of muting OTSAv is press the pause button, but that stops the audio .... :p

So use a second (cheap/or the onboard) soundcard for (pre) listening to another song.
Set this 2nd soundcard as default in Windows, so other programs can not claim your OtsAv primary soundcard.

Then you can use the Que output in OTSAV.

A double click on a .OTS file will launch the OtsPlayer and audio wil play on your 2nd soundcard.
This will NOT interrupt your OTSAV stream.
Also a double click on a .MP3 file will launch your default MP3 player on your 2nd soundcard.

If by "stream" you mean you are streaming to a SHOUTcast server via Ots...I have a very simple solution for you.

Open the Output Configuration and remove the "Enabled" checkmark from your "ON-AIR" output device.

Ots will continue to stream the audio to SHOUTcast, but now you won't hear the audio coming through your sound card.

Enjoy,

That workaround above will work as long as the ShoutCast DSP's input is set to "Winamp", if set to "Soundcard" as soon as you disable the card in the Output Config the stream audio will go dead.
