Title: What controller do you use
Post by: Paul Douglas on August 05, 2012, 09:14:37 PM
Hi Guys,

just a quick straw poll to see what is the most popular controller as it looks like i need to replace my Behringer as it has stopped working with Esperance,

Currently using a HC4500 but would love one day to use a seperate mixer and two Denon S1200's

as it happens,,,,my system is a 4500 for ots,, and i also have two denon s1200's

to be honest, although the 1200's look cooler,,,its easier using the 4500, as you dont find yourself doing any arm crossing, if you see what i mean..

assuming you're like me and can only press play and pause with your right hand

Andy, how is this working for you? I'm considering using it this weekend, but i left my 4500 at the venue, so cannot test it.

I don't understand why Ots would not ensure the looping lights work on the HC 4500 ???

I think it is because of the 'line in the sand' - it isn't finished - they got something out as promised, just not complete.

Based on some votes here in the forum, I decided to order the HC4500 to give it a try. Also looked at the MC6000 as an all in one solution.

If HC4500 is fine, the combination with the X500 mixer will be tested.

The aim is to reduce the size of some of our DJ consoles to a very handy and portable solution. There are gigs we do not have the truck with.

DJMartin the HC4500 & DN-X500 is an excellent choice for reliability and old school mixing with version 1.85.086

DJ Martin, yes the DN-HC4500 and DN-X5000 mixer work beautifully together. I was trying to go the route of the MC6000 myself, but I love the 4500. Even when Ots supports the 6000, I think I'll stick with the 4500. I LOVE the Digital readout as I stand a lot and do a lot of manual mixing. Good stuff. Just did a gig tonight in fact with Esperance and it went flawlessly :)

DJ Postie, from the specs, there seem to be a fader start possibility with the HC4500 and X500. Have you used that and what are your experiences about it? For some events I love to have my hands on the channel faders of the mixer and trigger the next song from there.

DJMartin sorry I do not use the fader starts. These are off on my mixer. I'm sure there are other HC-4500 owners out there who use the fader starts.
