Is there a way to automate the process of running and displaying video on the 2nd monitor  without disabling the video sub system to display giess on the 2nd monitor when a item is played that is not a video

I want to run giess to display for non video items and the video system to run auto it will do that  but not auto when going from a video item to non video.  I have to remember to start  to start visual fx

No really good way, no. There was a time with the older Ots that an AHK script could see what was in the playlist, and then you could possibly automate it... somewhat, but now in Esperance, it is impossible. It must be done manually.

I played with the idea of trying to work out from the play log whether the currently playing track is video or not.  I didn't get very far - I think it's only possible if we rename the tracks to include something to determine when to show videos and I'm not that keen on going through all my tracks.

Another thought occurs - you can monitor file system usage - when the video goes off, OtsAV will load the next image from the slideshow if it's enabled.  If I could detect that I could use it as the trigger to turn on visuals.

Let me know if you want me to explore this route - I'll add it to my backlog of good intentions...
