Same question, can you type to search for a tune and load easily and do you have the Smartphone or the tablet please?

One last time. ANY program which uses the internet will be slower than a wifi connection, no matter what the program is. If you search the android app store, there are a dozen (at least) VNC program emulators. Most are free, some cost $3. You simply create a link to the IP address of your Ots box, and you should get near-realtime performance. You will NEVER get that over the internet. Sure, Team Viewer, Logmein etc will work, but there will be a degree of lag. Fine for home entertainment, but useless on the dance floor.

This sounds really cool, but.....  I downloaded 4 free Android apps for my tablet, and a new version of Ultra VNC for my XP pro Ots machine.  After fighting with the XP machine firewall for an hour, along with fiddling with the Android apps, I finally got one of the apps to connect to the XP box.  The connection is as fast as Dr. Milky proclaims, but the particular app I got to work on the tablet has a real issue with getting the courser to track to the exact point you tap your finger on the screen.  So this makes the connection really difficult to make function.  I would not want to be trying this on the dance floor. :angry1:

Apologies, I should have added that I wouldn't use it for DJ'ing ... i find it far more effective (wow factor) to use 'Pause' directive when away from the decks with mic.

You can also use team viewer with the ip address in direct mode with no internet connection btw.

Hey,

I just downloaded and installed Jump Desktop (which is Amazon's Free App of the Day).  It seems to work better than any of the other options I have tried.

Great Call Bill!

Jump desktop truly is the best Android app I have tried using to interface with Ultra VNC on the Ots box.  It actually connects easily, and quickly.

I like the JD's zoom screen feature on the Android device, and it is very accurate for the positioning of the desktop pointer.

This is the first app that makes the thought of using the tablet as an Ots controller, at an event a real possibility.
