My song ratings (1-10) and BPM (Tapped in) were all lost when I recently upgraded my OTSDJ program to the new OTS AVDJ program. OTS AVDT using a different .oml file where this information is stored. The old OTSDJ.oml and OTSAVDJ.oml don't seem compatible.

Is there a way to import the song ratings and tapped-in information from the OTSDJ.oml ?

I hop I don't have to re-enter all this info by hand for my 90,000 songs. Whew!

Can you offer any help? Thanks in advance ~~~~ Ron

Darryl

Firstly. Back it up.

Secondly. Rename the old file to the new name.  It's only the name that changed. It was detailed in the release notes at the time of the name change.

Just make sure you have a copy of both versions of the oml just in case you make a mistake.

If you need help with this, feel free to ask.

Where would I fing the release notes?

And do you mean the name of the OML file was changed from OTSDT.oml to OTSAVDJ.oml?

Jumpin' Jeff

I think you mean OtsDJ, not OtsDT...
The release notes can be found here...

Yes, the oml filename was changed when OtsDJ was renamed to OtsAV. It looks for it's native name by default unless you tell it to look elswhere.

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.

Worth Remembering that in ots studio you can do auto detect bpm rather than tap them. If I am reading your post correctly doing them manually would take for ever, but hopefully with Darryl's advice you have not lost them.

Daryl (I guess it is) ... I followed your suggestion and renamed my old OTSDJ.oml file to the new name of AVOTSDJ.oml. Then I imported all the songs, Easy scaned, and then Relinked.

All songs are listed in the Media Library. Right clicking on a song and clicking on Show Info shows that all my song ratings and BMP are there. FINE BUSINESS .... However, ....

when a song is directed to PLAY, it will not

RIGHT CLICK a song / PLAY NOW

RIGHT CLICK  a song / SHOW INFO / EDIT IN STUDIO - Gets pop up message "There was an error opening this file"

RIGHT CLIK a song / SHOW INFO / REFRESH FROM FILE - gETS POP UIP MESSAGE "tHE REFERENCED FILE DOES NOT EXIST AND THEREFOR MARKED AS UNAVAILABLE"

In THE MEDIA LIBRARY INPUT WINDOW, SELECTING unavailable

There must be something else Im suposed to do. I better read the notes.

Any more suggestions?

Ron, has the location (i.e. Drive Letter) of your music changed?
Hopefully, you took Darryl's advice and backed up the file before you renamed it. However, all is not lost. When you "Show Info" on a track, where does it say it is? Can you browse to that location and confirm that it is actually there?
OtsDJ           PDI = PAAA-BHVP,  PBQN-3658
S & L               PDI = PAAA-BK27 x 2
Studio             PDI = PAAA-BL38

Jumpin' Jeff

That is exactly what happens to me when a track gets "lost". Your library is not properly linked.
