I'm truly hoping this becomes a mute point after the next update, but I've been using Pinnacle studios to convert my mp4's to mp2's for use in ots.  Not only does this make the file roughly 10x bigger but takes what seems like forever.  What programs are u guys using? I have a very high end quad core with 8 gigs ram so that isn't the problem.

TMPGEnc XPress 4.0 is what I am currently using.  I think it is somewhat faster than Pinnacle Studio (which I also own), but I've not done any timings.  The latest incarnation of TMPGEnc has some new video editing functionality and supports flash video - I will upgrade mine shortly.

Have fun,
Darryl.

Thanks Darryl.  720p and below are not bad.  Minute or less.  1080P is like second for second the length of the video, if not longer.  I'll give it a look.

I've recently been looking at http://www.replaymediacatcher.org/replay-media-catcher-the-full-review.php.

Just drag your files into the window, and it converts them very quickly to your preferred output format for importing into Ots.

I'm really liking it's speed and quality, although i did just find it, I haven't had any issues, I also haven't had much experience with it to find issues.

Initial impressions are pretty good though.

Hi

just curious as to which "video pool" is offering HD content to download?, I can see the logic in converting 1080p to SD as this would give very decent results, but other than vevo and youtube content
being "freely available" I haven't found any (legit) sites that offer HD video and very high quality audio! I am really hoping that the upcoming ots update includes mp4 support for future HD content
when available.

Another thing I have noticed lately is product placement in quite a few videos that are released on the net, look closely and you will see that the "TV" or commercial versions of these videos contain
no "product placement" in them, could be a case of the record companies re-couping revenues from advertising at the expense (lol) of folks using "youtube downloaders" to obtain HD copies of their videos

I also used the free version of AnyVideoConverter http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/

It's a good platform with a wide range of convertions (from mp4 to mp2 included)

I've been using this for years, very good product with very regular updates.

One thing I do like about my suggestion is the fact that I can convert nearly any video type to MP3 audio if desired.
