Converting DVD's to Ots files

If you downloaded the demo version then it came with some videos created by Ots Labs.  Can you play them OK?  The video you are trying to convert is 1080p HD.  I don't know if OtsAV internally scales 1080p down to 720p, ED or SD resolutions. Are you really planning on using HD video - if so you would have to buy the TV Broadcaster version (the expensive one).  720p HD video support is only in the TV Broadcaster version of OtsAV.  If you don't intend to use HD video then I'd use DVD video sources rather than blu-ray personally.

Have fun,
Darryl.

Darryl, I've created and played 1080 content in Ots. It plays back fine in reduced scale, if the machine is big enough to handle the data crunching.

Thanks for that info Jeff - I've never had a chance to try it... I've only got an OtsAV DJ licence so I'd have to install the demo to play with it.  Oh, and I haven't got a Blu-ray drive in my computer either (the silly buggers hadn't finished the format war, so the last laptop I bought has a rather redundant HD-DVD drive in it).

Have fun,
Darryl.

I don't have a Blu-ray drive either.
I created my 1080 content in Adobe premiere.

I've not found where I can get commercial 1080p content to use outside Blu-ray content of which I have no experience with.

Fair enough.  I've not seen any music blu-ray discs yet, but I've not been looking.  The record companies are making HD music videos (MTV has a HD channel in the UK broadcasting on Sky) so it'll happen eventually.

Have fun,
Darryl.
