I dont know why Promo Only bother with separating the Intro,

surely most are capable of finding the cue point they want,,

also, nowadays, I guess far more people use Software to play vids rather than Pioneer DVJ's....

Darryl

Hmm... good question.  I don't know how many people are still using the DJ DVD players vs the various software products out there.  However, I know plenty of people who think computers are unreliable and would rather have a dedicated hardware player.

Personally, I know that computers are unreliable - that's why I have two of them!

yeah,,

what I would REALLY like,,,would be a hard drive version of the Pioneer DVJ1000

or put another way, a Video version of the Pioneer CDJ2000 or even the Denon DNHD5500

I'm sure that will happen eventually,,maybe a couple of years away ???

does seem stupid to me that we have to rely on a PC..

( sorry, that might not be appreciated on a PC Software forum, but hopefully you'll get point )

Darryl

The advantages of the pc solution include the ability to upgrade the software and add new features. Also many of us have got our computers to do things specifically for our personal needs. For instance, I was running karaoke alongside Ots Dj before it could do karaoke. I was able to control both winamp and OtsDj to do the fade/mix into the karaoke. I couldn't have added this functionality to my cd players!

It's pros and cons: Reliability and stability vs functionality. Choose whatever you are happy with!

Have fun,
Darryl

Hey guys - I totally recommend Smashvidz.com. They have several different versions of each song plus, new songs are updated alot faster than promo only. You will have to convert from mp4 but well worth it!

discodonal.com

I reccomend mixmash mpeg2 for ots. No renaming. Imports directly to ots studio and sounds and looks great. They now bring out new material every two weeks.

Darryl

I'm not sure of the legality of the Smashvidz site, since they are editing the videos for DJ use when they are not the copyright holders.  I like the idea though, but the cost is quite high since you have to purchase the original music as well as subscribe to their service.

Have fun,
Darryl.

My understanding is you only have to own 1 copy to legally play the song. You can purchase about any song there is on napster for $1 usd. (without having to but the rest of the songs you don't need. )
