Hi,
I installed version 1.94 on my main laptop, no problem. But on my desktop machine I keep getting an error message "Ots setup encountered a file I/O error. Make sure all other programs are closed before re-running the program"
I tried to shut every program, searched using file manager etc and shutting everything I could find. But still get the same message - any ideas please?
Regards
Martin
Is it possible that the OtsLabs folder is set to read only?
I had that error but I had Ots open so I just closed it and installed again all worked fine.
Many thanks for your swift replies,
The previous version of Ots is definitely closed (but not uninstalled).
Made sure all Ots folders are not read only, no change.
Even tried running as administrator, still won't install. OK on my win 10 laptop.
Unfortunately, the install doesn't give any clues as to which program is preventing Ots from installing.
Do I need to uninstall previous releases of Ots? Don't want to do this as I have a workable program (1.90) installed and I may not be able to re-install. I use the desktop machine for all my work on the tracks then export to my two laptop machines for events.
Kind regards
Martin
I uninstalled first, and had no trouble at all. However, others have reported installing over the top of the older version and still had no trouble. Do you have anti-virus on the PC? If so, turn it off for the installation.
Another point raised in these threads is that you can install OtsStudio simply by copying the exe file from a working install. If you use this PC just for conversion, you don't need the full version of Ots.
You might try to install it in Safe mode. On windows 10 that's a bit trickier than windows 7.
