Title: Song/video timing
Post by: Judy on December 24, 2014, 01:37:57 AM
I am new to OtsAV and only know the bare basics.  I created a video consisting of one complete song and a slideshow of pictures.  If there are no songs queued on OtsAV DJ, the timing of the song to the pictures is perfect.  If there are any other songs queued, the OtsAV logo comes up prior to the song and throws the timing way off.  Is there a simple way to fix???

Welcome Judy to the forum.
I know you said you made a video, I think you may just have an audio track with the slide show enabled. I may be wrong
I would think the best way around this is to convert the slide show and music to a video, when that is done convert it to an Ots file, then every time it is played it will be a video file and the music will be synced to the slideshow
I am sure others will post as well and maybe have another suggestion.

Also having trouble understanding what you have done?

If I was doing what you are trying to do I would do this:
1/ Use a video editor program eg. Pinnacle (there are many around)
2/ Line up the slide images and include the sound file
3/ Create an .mpeg file consisting of images and sound.
4/ Using OTS Studio import the mpeg file and generate an .OTS file
job done

Thanks for the replies.  It is an actual video saved as an MPEG and then converted and imported to Ots.  The timing is perfect when there are no songs queued.  If there are songs queued, it's way off.

Are you saying that when the video file is played on its own the images are in sync with the music. but when you put the file in a playlist when it plays it is not in sync?
The file should play correctly
This is baffling me.

I think we need to talk about PC specs here. With a PC/laptop with the appropriate specs, and then a video and audio card, also within specs, there should be o lag in the video timing. If, however, the PC is not up to spec, you may need to play around with settings to get things to synchronise.
