New windows 10 computer. Have done about 20 events with no issues with this computer.
Last night, 3 times music just stopped. Ots was still open, no music, wouldn't start playing again until I closed the program and restarted.

I then played music on the iPad while I rebooted. Worked for another 20 minutes and then stopped again. I finished the night with my iPad. Didn't bother getting the backup computer going.

Win 10. Intel core i7-855uo cpu @1.8ghz 192mhz, 4 core
8gig RAM

Files are on internal SSD drive 50% full

 HD has nothing on it.

Sound card is Bose t1

Computer was connected to venue's WiFi.

Ots was recently upgraded to Enterprise

This was the main reason I chose ots over pcdj years ago and then later with vdj

First point of call should be to check in Event Viewer, Application or System logs, for any errors reported around the time of the problem.  The logs will probably be full of trivial information events so just look for the ones marked as Error.  Hopefully something there should give a clue where to look.  My guess is that Ots lost contact with the sound card for some reason.

Event Viewer is part of Control Panel/Administrative Tools.

Entering "event" in Windows search box should find it.

Let us know what you find.

i've been playing it today

75 songs and going with no stops

not plugged into external sound card though.


another note:  Ots actually stopped, so its not like it was still playing with no sound. no song would play until i closed the program and restarted it.

If ots disconnects with the sound card, it will "freeze"! Another thing is you said you connected via wifi. That's been known to cause issues with Ots in the past, so that is 2 potential causes for this problem.

Check your USB power management settings for the port that the sound device is using. It usually defaults to "Allow the computer to turn this device off". Uncheck the option.
Bottom line, if the OS turns the USB device off, Ots cannot process the next buffer and hangs. Not Ots' fault, but the device that allows it to happen.

Also check your physical USB connections.  Even a temporary disturbance can lead to a USB port being 'parked' until a reboot.
Wiggle the cable as well as the connectors while playing a track.  I was once caught out by a suspect cable (I had used a cheap one because the right angle connector was more convenient)  rolleyes

Not much to go on but it may be a lack of permissions to run on localhost remotely.
This might mean someone is attacking your PC via the local network, trying to do something and Win10 permissions is protecting your machine.
Is this possible in the venue's network environment? Is it secured, do the venue people know enough?
Is it possible that someone on the local network is attemping to control OTS on your machine, perhaps on WiFi?
Do you have the OTS RAC server enabled?
Has this happened at any other venues?

Just a guess, may be on the wrong track.
